“Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk waterfront boardwalk at sunset”

If you’re planning your first trip to Murrells Inlet, welcome. I’m Brian the owner of

Carolina Coastal Rentals, and I put this guide together to help you arrive feeling confident, relaxed, and ready to enjoy the coast. Our 3-bedroom, 2-bath coastal townhouse is walking distance to the Marsh Walk, about a 5-minute drive to local beaches, and an easy bike ride or short drive to Huntington Beach State Park—so you’ll be close to everything without feeling stuck in traffic.

Where Is Murrells Inlet?

Murrells Inlet is a laid-back fishing village just south of Myrtle Beach on the South Carolina coast. It’s known for:

  • Fresh seafood and waterfront dining

  • Beautiful marsh views and sunsets

  • Easy access to beaches, boating, and nature trails

You get the fun of the Grand Strand, without the constant crowds and noise.

Getting Here (And How Far Everything Is)

By Air

Myrtle Beach International Airport is only about 15 minutes from our townhouse. That means:

  • A short ride after a long travel day

  • Easy weekend getaways

  • No long, confusing drive when you land

From Our Townhouse

  • Marsh Walk: walking distance

  • Local beaches: about a 5-minute drive

  • Huntington Beach State Park: easy bike ride or short drive

You can spend more time relaxing and less time in the car.

When Is the Best Time to Visit?

You really can’t go wrong—here’s what each season feels like:

  • Spring (March–May): Mild weather, blooming flowers, fewer crowds. Great for the Marsh Walk and exploring parks.

  • Summer (June–August): Beach days, boat rides, and long evenings outside. The busiest season, perfect if you love energy and activity.

  • Fall (September–November): Warm days, cooler nights, and calmer beaches. A sweet spot for couples and families who want a slower pace.

  • Winter (December–February): Quiet, peaceful, and budget-friendly. Ideal for a cozy getaway, remote work, or a change of scenery.

  • Close to everything: Walk to the Marsh Walk for dinner and live music, then be back home in minutes.

It’s the kind of place where you can drop your bags, kick off your shoes, and feel settled right away.

Must-Do Experiences for First-Timers

Here are a few easy “don’t miss” ideas for your first visit:

Stroll the Marsh Walk at Sunset: Watch the sky change colors over the water, listen to live music, and enjoy dinner with a view—all within walking distance of the townhouse.

Spend a Day at the Beach: Pack your bag, hop in the car, and in about 5 minutes you’ll be at local beaches where you can swim, read, or just listen to the waves.

Visit Huntington Beach State Park: Take an easy bike ride or short drive to the park for:

  • Wide, natural beaches

  • Walking trails and bird-watching

  • A quieter, more peaceful shoreline

Try the Local Seafood: Murrells Inlet is known as the “Seafood Capital of South Carolina” for a reason. Order something fresh-caught and enjoy it by the water.

Tips to Make Your Trip Stress-Free

  • Plan one “big” activity per day (beach, park, boat tour), and leave the rest open to wander, relax, or nap.

  • Make dinner reservations on weekends, especially in peak season.

  • Give yourself buffer time on travel days so you can settle in, unpack, and breathe before jumping into activities.

Ready for Your First Visit?

Murrells Inlet is a special place—relaxed, friendly, and full of simple pleasures like good food, pretty views, and time outside. Our 3-bedroom, 2-bath townhouse puts you close to the Marsh Walk, local beaches, and Huntington Beach State Park, so you can enjoy it all without feeling rushed.

If you have questions while planning, I’m always happy to share suggestions to help make your first trip feel easy and memorable.
